Bomb Damage Repair Code for Prediction of Repaired Crater Performance.

Abstract

A nonlinear, finite-element computer code was developed for use in predicting the performance of repaired bomb craters. The code is capable of calculating the stresses, strains, and deflections produced by single- and multiple-wheel aircraft gear configurations. The apparent crater profile can be input as a series of linear approximations that is used by the code to modify material properties to reflect pushback and fallback crater debris from in situ native materials.
