Anomalous Resistivity of Auroral Field Lines.

Abstract

Conditions that exist along auroral field lines (del n sub i/n sub 0 > 0.24 Omega sub e/omega sub > 1) act to break the adiabatic invariance of the electron magnetic moment, cause strong anomalous dc resistivity, and generate electron distributions in good agreement with observations. (Author)
