Compliant-Coating-Fluid Interaction: Coating Shear Waves in Stationary Fluid.

Abstract

The objective of this work is to study the transfer of energy between an elastic solid coating, a viscoelastic non-homogeneous layer and the surrounding viscous fluid. The particle displacements and stress distributions in the solid and the fluid are analyzed. The motion at the lower boundary of the elastic solid is assumed given. The effect of coating properties, transition layer thickness and frequency are obtained. (Author)
