Valuation of the Military Retirement System.

Abstract

The military retirement system is really three separate but interrelated noncontributory unfunded systems: nondisability retirement from active service, reserve nondisability retirement, and disability retirement. All plans are defined benefit plans which are increased after retirement to fully reflect changes in the Consumer Price Index. A detailed description of the military retirement system is contained in Appendix B. This is a valuation of the military retirement system as of 30 September 1980.
