The Performance of a Small 14 Ton Tracked Amphibian in Calm and Rough Water.

Abstract

Calm and rough water tests were performed on a 1/6 scale model of a small 14 ton amphibious tracked vehicle. The program was carried out over a range of speeds to 12 mph at two load conditions with variations in the wheel-track suspension and bow flap configurations. In addition to describing the model, apparatus and test procedures, the report presents and analyzes the data. A discussion of the results includes a performance comparison with the large 26 ton amphibian, the LVTP-7. (Author)
