PN Matched Filters in Adaptive Arrays.
Abstract
This report describes and evaluates a new way to combine pseudo-noise (PN) spread spectrum and adaptive (antenna) arrays, consisting of multiple matched filters followed by sample matrix inversion (SMI) array processing. The evaluation of this technique was done by using a 4-element linear array and: (1) straightforward matrix calculations; (2) a computer computation of output signal-to-noise ratio; SNRO, versus angle when the theoretically correct noise covariance matrix was used; and (3) a computer simulation/demonstration that estimated the noise covariance matrix from computer-generated interference samples.
