LABCEDE and COCHISE Analysis II. Volume II.

Abstract

This report describes the analysis of the infrared radiation signatures occurring in electron-irradiated mixtures of CO2Ar. Topics covered include: (1) the development of an absolute calibration for the LABCEDE facility including a mapping of the relative response function across the system field of view, (2) an examination of CO2(v3) fluorescence histories with a determination of the electron beam excitation efficiency for the CO2(v3) mode, and (3) an analysis of CO fundamental band radiation directed towards the evaluation of the rate constants for the processes CO(v) + CO2 yield CO(v-1) + CO2(v3) as well as the electron beam rates and efficiencies for producing CO(v).
