Polystyrene Corrector Element Added to Existing Positive Acrytate for Simulator Collimator.

Abstract

In an earlier study, Electronic Systems Products, Inc, designed and analyzed a polystyrene corrector lens for an existing polymethylmethacrylate positive aspheric element. The results showed that an optimum correction lens was feasible to correct the existing lens substantially, but the optimal solutions were too long and required too large a display screen to be useful. One of the recommendations of that study was to attempt a design that would fall between the optima and the uncorrected singlet and be a good compromise. Work according to this compromise has been completed, and this report describes the results. (Author)
