MX Siting Investigation. Gravity Survey - Sevier Desert Valley, Utah.

Abstract

Results of the gravity survey in the Sevier Desert Valley of West Central Utah shows that it is probable that the alluvium in the central part of the study area overlies or is interbedded with a thick sequence of dense bosalts and that the basalts is about around the edges of the Sevier Desert where the alluvium is interpreted to be several thousand feet thick. The basalts in the central post of the area may mark the location of a fundamental crustal break-through which they were extruded. (Author)
