Microstrip Dipoles on Cylindrical Structures.

Abstract

An electric dipole tangent to the outer surface of a dielectric layer which coats a metallic cylinder is considered. Exact expressions are obtained for the electromagnetic field produced by the dipole, both inside the coating layer and in the surrounding free space. Asymptotic results are derived for a cylinder whose diameter is large compared to the wavelength. Arrays of elementary dipoles are discussed. (Author)
