Preliminary Specifications for a Navy Occupational Health Information Monitoring System (NOHIMS)

Abstract

The Navy Occupational Health Information Monitoring System (NOHIMS) is being developed to help coordinate variuos components of the Navy's occupational health program. The design of NOHIMS was based upon a comprehensive systems analysis of a Naval Air Rework Facility (NARF). This systems analysis identified the types of data required, the rfeference tables needed, the reports to be generated, the distribution of these reports, and the appropriate actions to be taken in response to the reports. The planned implementation of NOHIMS as a semi-automated system that would be replaced by a fully automated system is discussed.
