TNT Equivalency of Cyclotol 70/30.

Abstract

Peak side-on blast overpressure and scaled positive impulse were measured for Cyclotol 70/30 using configurations that simulate in-plant processing and shipping containers. The equivalency testing addressed the hopper configuration at the end of the casting belt, transfer box, and shipping container, typical in a manufacturing facility. High explosive equivalency values for each test series were obtained as a function of scaled distance by comparison to known pressure and impulse characteristics for TNT surface bursts.
