Symposium on Information Processing in Organizations.

Abstract

A two-day symposium was held at Carnegie-Mellon University in October 1981 to bring together social scientists doing research in the area of information processing in organizations. The eight papers were presented and discussed in detail include: The maximization process under uncertainty, Information systems in organizations, Formulating and justifying budget problems, Communicating with people in emergencies, Gossip, information and decision making, An on-going case study in technological innovation, Information and ambiguity in organizational change, The nature of managerial attention.
