Hard Surface Detergency. Part I. Interfacial Tensions of Candidate Surface Decontaminating Agents in Contact with Model Fluids.

Abstract

The interfacial tension of aqueous solutions of surfactants were determined against three model fluids: o-dichlorobenzene, methyl salicylate and malathion. The effect of surfactant structure and model fluid on the adsorption process were catalogued with the aid of the Szyszkowski equation and the Girifalco-Good parameters for the specific solution-fluid pairs.
