Compliant Surfaces.

Abstract

The results of experiments on the application of nonlinear optical interferometers to the measurement of compliant surfaces is presented. The interferometer is shown to be suitable for this application. However, the interferometer at 1.06 microns may not be sensitive enough to contour the observed streamwise deformations on the surface. A shorter-wavelength device should be more useful. (Author)
