Chemical Reactions and Properties of Organosilicon Compounds Related to New Materials.

Abstract

A summary of research leading to (1) The discovery and characterization of formable polysilane high polymers, copolymers of phenylmethylsilane and dimethylsilanes units; (2) Investigations leading to the synthesis of tetramesityldisilene, the first compound containing a silicon-silicon double bond; and (3) Various advances in the chemistry of polysilanes.
