Linear and Nonlinear Pulse Propagation in Optical Waveguides.

Abstract

This report investigates nonlinear pulse propagation (solitons) and self-phase modulation, as well as the nonlinear mode mixing in optical fibers. It also investigated the effects of longitudinal inhomogeneities on linear propagation in optical wave guides and calculated radiation loss due to tapers.
