GPSS and Modeling of Computer Communication Networks.

Abstract

The suitability of the language GPSS for discrete event simulation of computer communication networks is investigated. Capabilities and peculiarities of GPSS are examined, and sample simulation results for four ring network link level protocol models are presented. Translation of models from one dialect of GPSS to another is discussed, and certain inherent semantic differences are identified. (Author)
