Detection Networks.

Abstract

Each member of a team of decision agents receives a conditionally independent observation about some underlying discrete hypothesis. Subject to causality constraints, the agents seek to optimize a team cost functional by making discrete decisions which are conveyed to other agents on capacity constrained channels. This paper derives optimal decision rules for a class of problems of this type and discusses their properties. (Author)
