Optical Excision Program
Abstract
This report summarizes the results obtained by PROBE SYSTEMS as part of a joint DARPA/NAVELEX program for investigation of optical excision. As originally conceived, optical excision is an acousto-optic technique for adaptively rejecting narrowband interference from broadband signals. This adaptive rejection of narrowband interference is an important means of reducing the vulnerability of spread spectrum systems to narrowband jamming. Broadband tests were performed to compare architectures and evaluate components.
