Springing Research on a Great Lake Ore Carrier.

Abstract

This report discusses the springing research of ore carriers. Springing Research undertaken by the Coast Guard is presented, covering very early data collection, analysis and problems, and extending to the present. The object of this research is to fully understand the structural response of Great Lake vessels especially those 10000 feet and longer, to insure adequate longitudinal strength.
