Political Identity and International Status on Taiwan.

Abstract

This SUMMARY REPORT excerpts a longer ANALYTICAL PAPER examining the results of the 14 November 1981 local elections on Taiwan, with particular attention to their potential foreign policy implications. In general, this SUMMARY REPORT treats three themes -- who won? Internal implications? external implications? -- in terms of three domestic 'parties' -- Kuomintang, Opposition and Independent.
