Abstract

This study describes aquatic habitats, aquatic biota and overall aquatic systems found in the Hillview Drainage and Levee District, located in Greene and Scott Counties, Illinois. Information presented in this report is based on four general sources: a field reconnaissance of streams, major ditches and lateral ditches; a qualitative and quantitive analysis of field samples of aquatic organisms; a review of published and unpublished reports; and consultation with acknowledged technical specialists in the region.
