Abstract

This report is the result of a nine-month inventory of the terrestrial biology of the Degognia and Fountain Bluff Levee and Drainage District and the Grand Tower Drainage and Levee District in southwestern Jackson County, Illinois. The purpose of this inventory was to identify and quantify the terrestrial biological elements, and to provide a qualitative evaluation of the vegetation and wildlife habitats found in the study area. The inventory will serve as part of a planning document for the Degognia Project Area, providing environmental information to be considered in the identification of alternative solutions to water resource problems in the area.
