Evolution of the Defense Mapping Agency's Digital Data Specification.

Abstract

The Defense Mapping Agency was given the responsibility in 1975 to produce all digital data for the DoD. Since that time changes in user requirements and improved production techniques have resulted in a number of specification changes. This paper will discuss the evolution of the specifications to the present, the development of a Prototype Specification to support high resolution sensor simulation, and the follow-on proposed Digital Data Base 1985 which is expected to support multiple applications.
