Calcium Inorganic Electrolyte Battery Development.

Abstract

Eighteen 2000-ampere-hour and eight 200-ampere-hour calcium thionyl chloride cells of a low surface area design were fabricated and performance tested. The tests covered: (1) Electrolyte volume optimization; (2) Characterization of discharge capacity vs. rate and temperature; (3) Intermittent discharging characterization; and (4) Reversed polarity abuse.
