SEASAT Satellite Radar Altimetry Data Processing System.

Abstract

Measurements from the SEASAT satellite radar altimeter are combined with the Doppler precise orbit, corrected for atmospheric and environmental effects, and reduced to along-track geoid heights and vertical deflections by an adaptive Kalman smoother, which is based upon a third-order Markov process. The altimeter data processing system at the Naval Surface Weapons Center (NSWC) is described in this report. (Author)
