Prediction of Cumulative Fatigue Damage.

Abstract

In this report, fatigue in general and some prominent theories concerning prediction of cumulative fatigue damage are discussed. A computer program was developed to calculate the cumulative fatigue damage and fatigue life using the predictive equation developed by I.R. Kramer (8). Test results generated by Kramer for 2014-T6 aluminum alloy were used to determine cumulative fatigue damage and fatigue life. The experimental values of fatigue damage and life are found to be in agreement with those predicted. (Author)
