Integrated Avionics Communications, Navigation, and Penetration Aids System Career Ladder AFS 326X8A/B/C.
Abstract
Inventory booklets were administered to Integrated Avionics Communication, Navigation, and Penetration Aids Systems incumbents at worldwide locations. The 513 respondents comprising the survey sample accounted for 65 percent of the total 326X8 population and were representative across major commands and paygrade groups. Three- and five-skill level personnel in all shreds perform an almost exclusively technical job. The 7-skill level personnel perform both a technical as well as a supervisory and managerial job. Analysis of experience (TAFMS) groups showed a similar trend of progression from the more technical jobs to supervisory and managerial positions. B-shred (F-15) first-enlistment personnel have the lowest overall job interest of the first-enlistment groups. Second-enlistment and career personnel had slightly lower job interest than comparative samples of similar experience groups from other AFSs surveyed during 1980; however, slightly more of the 326X8 personnel indicated plans to reenlist than those of the comparative group.
