Analysis of Software Maintainability Evaluation Process.

Abstract

Paragraph 6.3.3 of Technical Directive Number 120 to Contract F29601-77-C-82 requires the report of findings from tasks outlined in paragraph 4.2.1. These tasks are to determine: If significant differences in results exist which are associated with types of application area for which a computer program is written on the relative size and complexity of the subject area but are independent of software maintainability considerations. If the experience level, type of experience, functional knowledge or lack of functional knowledge of the program/module being evaluated has a bearing on the results independent of maintainability considerations, The use and value of the comments sections of the questionnaires, and Questions which are apparently being interpreted differently by different evaluators. In addition to the above tasks, research of the validity of the maintainability model was also performed.
