Magnetic Resonance Determinations of Structure and Reaction Kinetics of Epoxy/Amine Systems.

Abstract

Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) were used to investigate (1) the kinetics of the reactions between amines and epoxies using model compounds and (2) the microstructure present in amine-cured epoxies. The cured resins were studied close to the glass transition as a function of temperature and as a function of solvent content (Methylene chloride).
