BLEST Impulse Time-of-Flight Sphere.

Abstract

A time-of-flight sphere was designed, fabricated, and tested to be used to measure impulse delivered by a Berm-Loaded Explosive Simulation Test (BLEST). The timer inside the thin-wall ball was tested for survival by performing drop tests and explosively propelled tests. The takeoff velocity determined from time of flight correlated very closely with the velocity determined by high-speed cameras and photopoles. (Author)
