The Professional Apprentice: Observations on Fieldwork Roles in Two Organizational Settings.

Abstract

Comparative analysis of two ethnographic research projects undertaken by different investigators. Findings and emergent theoretical ideas are discussed in terms of a researcher's continuous negotiation with informants for access. Ethnographic understandings are depicted as primarily local, tentative and subject to informant revision. (Author)
