Optimal Planning and Execution of DoD VLSI Activities.

Abstract

The Task Force on VHSIC has throughly reviewed the DoD VHSIC program and has addressed each of the issues contained in its charge as well as an additional issue, that of the role of DoD laboratories with VHSIC capabilities. This review has been aided greatly by presentations from DoD, university, and industry leaders indentified in the Appendix. It has been found that VHSIC is an exemplary DoD technology program responding to critical needs and progressing well. The findings and recommendations presented here and amplified in the text are concerned primarily with the continuation of this success to where VHSIC and beyond-VHSIC technologies are fully developed and become operational in defense systems.
