Hemoglobin Function in Stored Blood.

Abstract

Blood storage experiments, 4 C, were carried out for the purpose of improving preservative solutions for maintaining ATP (for red cell viability) and 2,3-DPG (for hemoglobin function). Blood banking conditions were used for selecting, processing and storage of blood in all experiments. Fluorimetric techniques were used for determining ATP and 2,3-DPG concentrations. (Author)
