Fault Diagnosis of Nonlinear Analog Circuits. Volume I. DC Diagnosis of Hard Failures,

Abstract

The dc fault dictionary approach has been found very useful for locating hard failures (open circuits and short circuits) in nonlinear analog circuits. In this research project, we have introduced several new techniques to enhance the capability of the dc fault dictionary. Among our new results, the most significant ones are: (1) The use of the complementary pivot method to find test node voltages under all faults. (2) The set-up of the fault dictionary in the form of integer codes instead of test node voltages. The former technique makes it possible to rapidly analyze large circuits under all fault conditions.
