Thermal Martensitic Transformation Cycling in Cu-Zn-Al Shape Memory Alloys.

Abstract

The effect of multiple thermal cycles between the martensitic phase and parent phase of selected Cu-Zn-Al alloys was studied. As thermal cycling progressed the martensite start temperature (Ms), parent phase finish temperature (Af), and the temperature at which the maximum martensitic peak height occurred (Mmax) were all observed to shift upward.
