The DMS Multiprocess Execution Environment.

Abstract

In this report a language-independent multiprocessing environment for managing human-computer dialogue is described. One of the main reasons for such an environment is that it helps to enforce the separation of modules that deal with human-computer dialogue from those that deal with computation while at the same time providing for concurrencies that would not otherwise be possible. Embedded in the environment are debugging aids that facilitate software preparation and a priority mechanism for sequencing interprocess communications. (Author)
