Resistive Wall Instabilities in the Modified Betatron. Revision 1.
Abstract
Resistive wall instabilities in modified betatrons are analyzed in several limits. The moderate frequency, negative energy, m=1 spacecharge and cyclotron waves are found to be most dangerous, potentially capable of disrupting acceleration for typical betatrons parameters. A moderate spread in electron energy can, however, stabilize these modes. (Author)
