Acoustical, Physical, and Biological Properties of Surface Sediment Cores Collected from Long Island Sound, August 27-28, 1980.

Abstract

Concurrent acoustical, physical, and biological properties were measured from three replicate core liner and three replicate box core samples collected by scuba divers from each of two locations in Long Island Sound 27-28 August 1980. Grain size distribution, porosity, and compressional wave velocity measurements were taken at 1 cm intervals in the core liner samples. Compressional wave velocities were measured at 0.5 cm intervals and porosity values at 1.0 cm intervals in the box core samples.
