Two-Dimensional Numerical Model of coupled Heat and Moisture Transport in Frost Heaving Soils.

Abstract

A two-dimensional numerical model of coupled heat and moisture transport in freezing and thawing soils is developed and tested. For simple but useful geometries the model permits estimation of frost heave and thaw consolidation. The model is coded in FORTRAN IV and is designed to run on mini-class computers. (Author)
