Optical Array Processor.

Abstract

The introduction of noncoherent vector x matrix optical operators has led to the development of an assortment of iterative operations for the rapid performance of such problems as matrix inversion and eigenvector extraction. In this contract Aerodyne Research, Inc. has reexamined all of these concepts and integrated them in a new and surprising way. The new problem solving system is simpler, cheaper, more flexible, and more accurate than its predecessor. (Author)
