Analysis of a Function to Approximate the Envelope of a Bandpass Random Signal.

Abstract

A simple algorithm is analyzed for calculating the envelope of a bandpass random signal. A general formula for the probability density function of the computed envelope is given. A specific example is worked out in detail for the case of zero-mean Gaussian bandpass noise. (Author)
