An Aerobic Digestion of Lime Sludge.

Abstract

The purpose of this project was to determine the feasibility of using anaerobic digestion to treat sludges from the low-level lime addition process for phosphorus removal. Because digester supernatant is normally recycled to the influent of the sewage treatment plant, the re-release of any phosphorus is important. The operating characteristics of the digester using the lime sludge for fuel must be determined for process control and design. (Author)
