Investigation of Denitration Reactions of Unsymmetrical Trinitrotoluenes to 2,4-Dinitrotoluene

Abstract

Several methods were tested for reductive denitration of 2,4,5- trinitrotoluene to 2,4-dinitrotoluene. Tin-hydrochloric acid and ion- hydrochloric acid gave a 10% yield of the desired material; other reagents gave none.
