SDAC Final Report, 1 October 1979-30 September 1980.
Abstract
The effort required to operate and maintain the Seismic Data Analysis Center for the contract period beginning 1 October 1979 and ending 30 September 1980 is summarized in this report. Statistics on the use of the computer systems and the seismic data received, stored and maintained at the center are also tabulated. Tasks performed under this contract included the operation of digital computers and analog systems, the programming to maintain the digital computers, the maintenance of the systems, and the services provided to those participating in the VELA project. The acquisition of a VAX 11/780 computer system to develop algorithms for detecting signals and local events at regional distances is also discussed. Improvements to the automatic association program, the intelligent line interfaces, the on-line detector, and the manual digitizing process were made during the contract period and are described in this report.
