New Console Interface System.

Abstract

A new console interface system has been designed and built for the Experimental Test Site (ETS) of the Ground Electro-Optical Deep Space Surveillance (GEODSS) program using microprocessor technology. The new system allows current and future microprocessor based subsystems to be conveniently integrated into the overall system. Serial interfaces, high performance, multi-use DMA interfaces, and shared memory systems are extensively used. The use of LSI, standard microcomputer boards, and built-in tests and diagnostics is expected to result in a more reliable and maintainable system. (Author)
