FLIR Stabilization Study.

Abstract

Precision pipeline correlation has been shown to be a superior method for stabilizing FLIR imagery. A pipeline correlation stabilization module provides better performance than gyro transducers, is inherently tuned to image parameters, can be remotely located from the sensor and can be used for passive or active stabilization of the image. In addition, the pipeline correlation module will provide edge enhanced imagery and a measure of focus of the sensor. With the addition of one board, the module will provide a motion map or, given two separated boresighted sensors, a range map of of the scene. A special function module can be connected to provide stabilized, scaled, integrated and dynamically-sampled imagery as desired.
