Reading Skills, Reading Requirements, Learning Strategies, and Performance in Navy Technical Schools.

Abstract

This study examined the relationship between the reading grade levels (RGLs) of 5797 students and their performance in 46 Navy technical training schools. Over all schools, the relationship between RGL and performance was small. The variability among schools, however, showed wide ranges. The impact of learning strategies, educational level, and fleet experience on performance was also studied. (Author)
