Nonlinear Capillary Waves under Gravity with Edge Constraints in a Channel.

Abstract

An equation of the K-dV type is derived for the study of nonlinear surface waves under gravity with surface tension and edge constraints in a channel of variable cross section. The approach used here is based upon a nonlinear ray method. An example of a symmetric rectangular channel with variable width is given. (Author)
